Clinical appliance of conical telescopic denture treatment in periodontal disease with dentition defect

[Objective] To observe the clinical effects of conical telescopic denture treatment on periodontal diseases with most teeth lost.[Methods] Twenty-four patients with periodontal diseases were treated and 32 telescopic dentures were made.Total abutment teeth were 181.Thirty-three of them were with mobilityⅠ,114 of them were with mobility Ⅱ and 13 of them were with mobility Ⅲ.The average observation period was two and a half years.Gingival index,periodontal pocket depth,teeth mobility and bone density were examined and the feelings of the treatment were learnt.[Results] After the treatment,the majority of periodontal pocket depth and teeth mobility were decreased and bone density was increased.Most patients were satisfied with their dentures.Total rate of validity was 98.1%.[Conclusion] The telescopic denture is effective for patients with periodontal disease and dentition defect.
