Abstract
Combined with the research of controlling and conducting the thermal cracking on gate pier concrete,the observation is made for the temperature and strain of concrete on site.Based on the results,the analyses are made here for the distribution and change regularity of early temperature and strain,the process of rising and decreasing of temperature,and the change relationship of the center concrete to surface concrete.The results of calculation show that the thermal stress is more than the tensile strength,which would result in concrete cracking.The measured value of strain on concrete surface layer is close to the theoretical value of calculation,and the change trend is similar.
