Abstract
In order to screen the high-quality and low cost root zone structure of golf green,4 treatments including soil-based root zone(T1),pure sand root zone(T2),partial amended sand root zone(T3) and fully amended sand root zone(T4) were conducted. The plots were 2 m×3 m.The results indicated that the physical properties of root zone were affected by many factors.Soil saturated hydraulic conductivity and infiltration rate of newly established turf did not meet the standards of USGA.With sand proportion increasing, the soil saturated hydraulic conductivity, infiltration rate and air-filled porosity increased as well.Compared to sand-base root zone, total porosity and waterfilled porosity of soil root zone were higher, and the bulk density was lower. The pH of four treatments were alkaline that was mainly caused by irrigation water.
