Abstract

Ornithine decarboxylase(ODC) is the first rate-limiting enzyme in regulating intracellular polyamine biosynthesis and is involved in many important physiological functions including embryonic development, cell cycle, cell proliferation and differentiation. In the same time,ODC is also needed by tumor cells for their rapid proliferation.Currently,it has been regarded as a potential molecular target for anti-tumor therapy. This article briefly reviews the research progress in the relationship between ODC and several common female malignant tumors.
