The Analysis of Common Characteristics about Old-Words-for-New-Meaning

As a method of economic and the development of words' meaning,old-words-for-new-meaning contributes to the system of vocabulary and words' meaning.Meanwhile,it leads to the trend of modern Chinese language.This article selects the old-words-for-new-meaning from the dictionary of Contemporary Han-Chinese new and Modern Han-Chinese,range from 1990s to the present,it has more than 100 words.Therefore,the author finds that it has four characteristics: the expanding of new words' meaning;the relevance of old words to new words;the accidental and uncertainty for new meaning;the ethnicity of new meaning.
