Abstract

Objective To investigate the control strategies and measures of measles incidence and evaluate the effect of measles vaccine immunization. Methods The children from 8 months to 14 years old in September 2007 in the city were carried measles immunization, and strengthening immune effects were evaluated. Results In the city,345,818 children were resident and 2702 children were flowing in 348,520 children, and immunization rate was 99.35%,which in resident children and flowing children was 99.35% and 99.11% respectively.420 children were randomly selected to assess the supervision,in which 416 children were registered, the coverage rate was 99.05%.90 children were selected in each county, the effects of vaccination was assessed in a total of 630 children,of which 626 were vaccinated, immunization rate was 99.40%.The measles incidence was from 6.44/100 thousands before immunization to 0.48/100 thousands after strengthening immunization, and the positive rate of measles antibody was 96.65%.Conclusion To control and eliminate the incidence of measles, except strengthening the manage of the infection source(patients),the most effective measure was to strengthen measles vaccination in the susceptible population, improve the level of population immunity, build the immune barrier for target population, protect the children's health, enhance the supervision of the measles prevalence, measure the measles antibody levels in healthy population and establish the prevention and control strategies.
