Effect of the expression of apoptosis in beviscapine applied to rats with cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of breviscapin on rats with cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury. Methods A total of 65 healthy SD rats were divided randomly into three groups: normal group( n = 5),cerebral ischemia reperfusion group( n = 20)and beviscapine group( n = 20). The rats in normal group were subdivided into 3- day and 7- day with( n = 10). The middle cerebral artery occlusion / reperfusion( MCAO) model was established using of improved Zealonga. The neurological score and brain water contents of the MCAO were evaluated at 3d and 7d: and the histological changes were observed through Hematoxylin- Eosin staining,and the cell apoptosis were detected by TUNEL method. Results Beviscapine reduced the score of severity of MCAO rats' nervous system disease,the degree of brain edema and the number of apoptotic cells( P 0. 05). Conclusion Breviscapine can inhibit apoptotic cells in cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury,and get an obvious effect in promoting the recovery of injured brain.
