Analysis and Evaluation on Contamination of Heavy Metal in Vegetables of Bengbu City

Abstract

The contamination level of Pb,Cd,Cr,As and Hg in 26 kinds of vegetables in Bengbu was investigated. The results showed that among vegetables produced form market of Bengbu,except leaf vegetables,other vegetables were not contaminated. There were 100 % of the samples whose lead content exceeded the standard,the most exceeded was 2.37 times of the standard and averaged 1.6 times of the standard; and 50 % of the samples whose cadmium content exceeded the standard,the most exceeded was 2.24 times of the standard,whose average cadmium content was closed to the heavy metal index of nuisanceless vegetable in China. All vegetables are not polluted by Cr,As,Hg;The absorbability to the heavy metal of different kinds of vegetables is different,the absorbability to the heavy metal of leaf-vegetables is the strongest,but melon vegetables is the weakest. The content of heavy metal of different position of the same vegetables differs greatly,the content of heavy metal is generally higher than other position in the blade.
