Abstract

Due to ambiguity in UCP500 about how to decide an original documents,disputes arises between banks again and again. ICC has realized the question and has made improvements about the standards of how to decide original documents in UCP600. It is the aim of this paper to define the exact meaning of Article 17th of UCP600 through analyzing the case of Credit Industrial et Commercial v. China Merchants Bank.
