Abstract

The advanced glycation end products(AGEs)is the end products of many proteins after the nonenzymatic glycation reaction during continuous hyperglycemia.Ligation of RAGE by AGEs results in intracellular signaling,which lead to activation of oxidative stress and induce growth factor expression.The AGE-RAGE system should be,therefore,a candidate molecular target for overcoming diabetic nephropathy.
