Abstract
This paper presents control delay, stopped delay and approach delay of a signalized intersection and analyzes their relations. It analyses survey method, analytic model and simulation model, which are used to compute the delay of an intersection. This paper computes respectively the delay of a crossed intersection through the dot_sample method, HCM2000 method, SimTraffic 5 and VISSIM 3.60. The results show that VISSIM 3.60 more fit for the intersections under mixed traffic environment in Chinese than other methods because of its detailed parameter settings.
