Study on antioxidant of total flavonoids from Dendranthema morifolium cv. Gongju leaves.

Abstract
Dendranthema morifolium cv.Gongju leaves were extracted in Soxhlet extractor with petroleum ether and 75% ethanol, and then the extract was concentrated by vacuum, the total flavonoids were gotten from Dendranthema morifolium cv.Gongju leaves.The antioxidant capacity and the scavenging capacity to hydroxyl radicals, superoxide anion radicals,lipid peroxy radicals of total flavonoids extracted from the leaves of Gongju were studied.The results showed that total flavonoids extracted from the leaves of Gongju have good antioxidant properties, and could effectively scavenge hydroxyl radicals, superoxide anion radicals and lipid peroxy radicals.In the experimental concentration range, its scavenging capacity rise with the increase of the total flavonoids.
