Abstract
Cellulose carbamate was synthesized in xylene as solvent with microcrystalline cellulose and urea as raw materials. All factors affecting the N content in the products were investigated. The optimum technological conditions were determined that the pretreatment of microcrystalline cellulose took place in 20% NaOH solution for 4-6 h and the reaction was carried out at 137 ℃ for 4 h with the mass ratio of urea to microcrystalline cellulose =(3-4)/1.Elementary analysis indicated that the content of nitrogen in the products was about 8%.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
