Abstract
It is put forward at the 17th Congress of CPC that we will construct the harmonious socialist society with ecological civilization,and since then ecological civilization becomes an important component of the socialist theory with Chinese characteristics and one of the striving goals of building a well-off society.Therefore,it is of great significance to define ecological civilization,elaborate the necessity and realistic meaning of its construction at present and put forward the basic principles and measures so as to set up the ecological civilization belief among people and to actively carry out the ecological and sustainable development of the socialist harmonious society.
