Abstract
Objective To explore the significance of small incision lobectomy under the assistance of VATS in treatment of lung cancer. Methods Eighty patients with lung cancer in this hospital were randomly divided into two groups according to the order of admission, each with 40patients. Patients in study group were treated with small incision lobectomy under the assistance of VATS,and patients in control group were given with traditional pulmonectomy. The difference in operating time, amount of blood loss, postoperative drainage time etc and quality of life after treatment between these two groups was compared. Results The amount of blood loss, postoperative drainage time and hospitalization days in study group were(230. 5 ± 80. 3) ml,(3. 5 ± 1. 0) d and(8. 7 ± 2. 4) d respectively, and they were significantly lower than those of control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P 0. 05). The overall condition scores of quality of life in patients of study group were 88. 5 ± 8. 7,which were significantly higher than those of control group(70. 4 ± 6. 2),and the difference was statistically significant(P 0. 05). Conclusion The lobectomy with small incision under the assistance of VATS is safe and reliable in treatment of lung cancer, and it can significantly improve the quality of life of patients, hence it should be widely applied.
