Triplophysa nasobarbatula sp.nov. (Fig.1) Holotype No.840207,total length 113?mm,standard length 90?mm.Paratypes 3 total length 85 92?mm,standard length 66 76?mm,collected from Libo County(107°54′E,25°14′N) of Guizhou Province,China,in Apr. 1984.The holotype and two of the paratypes are deposited in Zunyi Medical College,the others in the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Description D.iii 8,A.iii 5,P.i 9,V.i 6.Gill rakers on the inner side of the first gill arch 9.Vertebrae 4+36. Depth in standard length 5.5 6.8,head 4.0 4.4,length of caudal peduncle 5.5 6.1,its depth 8.4 10.0.Snout in head 2.0 2.2,eye 7.5 11.0,interorbital 3.0 3.7.Depth of caudal peduncle in its length 1.4 1.8. This new species resembles Triplophysa yunnanensis Yang,but differs from the latter by having small scales on the predosal of the body,8 branched dorsal fin rays,6 branched ventral fin rays and two well expanded lateral chambers in the anterior vesicle of the air bladder. (Fig.2) Holotype No.9050268,total length 89?mm,standard length 72?mm.Paratypes 26 total length 34 98?mm,standard length 28 83?mm.They were collected from Zhenfeng County (25°32′N,105°12′E)and Xingren County (25°28′N,105°30′E) of Guizhou Province,China,in May 1990.All the types are deposited in Zunyi Medical College and Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. This new species in similar to Tyiplophysa nasobarbatus descriped above,but different from the latter by having two unexpanded lateral chambers in the anterior vesicle of the air bladder,7 branched fin rays in the dorsal fin and no barbel like process on the back edge of the nasal valve.
