Abstract
Avian diversity of Quanzhou City in 5 different habitats was studied. The results showed that the species of birds in forest, farmland, residential area, orchard and water area were 158,155,74,69 and 97,respectively.Avifauna in 5 habitats was distributed as follows: oriental realm speciespalearctic realm speciescosmopolitan realm species.Species richness,α diversity and G-F diversity in five habitats decreased in the following order: forestfarmlandwater areaorchardresidential area. The similarity between forest and farmland was the highest, while the similarity between water area and other habitats was the lowest according to the measurement of β diversity.Avian distribution in 5 habitats of Quanzhou City was classified into 4 groups based on cluster analysis of avian diversity.Residential area and orchard were classified into the one group, forest, farmland and water area into three groups individually.
