Abstract

Objective To explore the characteristics of histological changes of cochlear in guinea pigs exposed to experimental blast underpressure.Methods The cochlear sections of the guinea pigs exposed to experimental blast underpressure were observed using light microscope.Results The remarkable changes were observed in the sections of the guinea pigs exposed to experimental blast underpressure of peak more than-45.5kPa.The most representative changes were haemorrhage of scala media and scala tympani,spiral ligament and stria vascluaris.The more the underprssure is,the severer are these changes.Conclusion Exposure to mid-intensity of blast underpressure more than-45.5kPa can induce remarkable pathohistological changes of cochlear in guinea pigs.
