Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of shuangguyitong(tonifying congenital and acquired essence, eliminating pathogen)acupuncture therapy on T cell subtypes of streptozotocin(STZ)-induced diabetic rats. Methods:Among seventy-three 180~220g Wistar rats, thirteen were assigned as normal control group(group A) and sixty were induced diabetes by injecting STZ into celiac cavity. The diabetic rats were randomly divided into model group(group B),shuangyuyitong treatment group(group C),shuangyuyitong acupuncture group(group D) and common acupuncture group(group E).After two courses of treatment, plasma insulin was tested by radioimmunoassay(RIA)and T cell subtypes(CD_4~+/CD_3~+,CD_8~+/CD_3~+)were tested with flow cytometry. The blood glucose was measured by sugar equipment. Results:The high blood glucose of the diabetic rats were lowered significantly in group D and E(P0.05).There was no significant difference between the contents of insulin before and after the treatment in group D and E(P0.05).The ratio of CD_4~+Tcell in model group was less than that of normal group, that of CD_8~+Tcell was higher and the ratio of CD_4~+ and CD_8~+ T cell was lower than that of the normal group. The regulative effectof group D was the best among the treatment groups. Conclusion: shuangyuyitong acupuncture therapy hasreliable effect of down-regulating blood sugar on DM rats. The therapy canadjust the immunity function of DM rats significantly, which might be an important tache to regulate the neuroendocrinoimmune network.
