Abstract

A model test on a 10m span cable-strut arch frame was designed and carried out in this paper. Through static load tests on structures without prestress and structures with different supporting condition, not only the superiority of cable-strut arch frame over common arch frame was confirmed, but also some mechanical characteristics of cable-strut arch frame were found. During the experiment, the construction of joint detail was also studied. The model was analyzed by the mixed finite element method and comparison of the oretical and experimental results was also carried out.
