A Cluster Analysis about the Economic Level of West-Chongqing Economic Hallway

On the basis of natural geographical features, levels of economic and social development and law of regional economic development, the 40 districts and counties of Chongqing are divided into 3 economic regions: the Urban Economic Circle, the West-Chongqing Economic Corridor, and the Three-gorges Ecological Economic Circle. The West Chongqing Economic Corridor is located along the transportation highways of Chengdu-Chongqing and Chongqing-Ouizhou, which is not only the passage between Sichuan and Chongqing, Chongqing and Guizhou, but also the medium for the developed Urban Economic Circle to radiate outward. This paper classifies, compares and studies the levels of economic development of the 12 districts and counties of the west-Chongqing economic corridor by means of Cluster Analysis method and the SPSS statistics software to pinpoint the levels of the economic development of the districts and counties, which provides references for making economic strategies for the districts and counties along the corridor, for promoting the harmonious economic dvelopment of the West Chongqing Economic Corridor and the whole city.
