On Wang Tong's Confucianist Ethnic Thought

Wang Tong's confucianist ethnic thought,with his c on fucianist universal dynasty thought complementing one another,reconsiders the c onflicts and fusions among the ethnic groups since Wei,Jin,Southern and Northe rn Dynasties and constructs the new theory on building up a new,unified multiethnic dynasty.Wang Tong stressed political identity as a basis of the national unity and the ethnic-groups unified,advocated the equality of the ethnic group s in context of benevolence and the cultural exchanges and complementarities bet ween the ethnic groups,which developed the traditional confucianist ethnic thou ght and opened the theoretical precedent for the more large-scale fusions among the ethnic groups of the Tang Dynasty.
