Abstract
Several surface treatment processes for magnesium alloys are studied.The technique processes,operation conditions of chromate-free treatment for magnesium alloys are discussed.The thickness,components and surface morphology of conversion film have been analyzed and measured.The experiments results of several technique processes are compared.The results show that the coating obtained under the optimum chromate-free process is uniform with better adhesion and protection to the magnesium alloy substrate.The antiseptic ability of conversion film is analogous to the film of chromate treatment.
