Abstract

After suppressing the Revolt of the Three Feudatories,Emperor Kangxi(1664-1723)devoted more energy to the literary circles in early time of the Qing Dynasty. He not only cleared up the literary world by every means, such as literary policies, selecting works, taking part in controversies, and so on,but also through the strategies that literatures were accepted easily, such as the bestowal, especially the bestowal of literature,to draw over the nationwide scholars. And,by using their strong radiant power, those literary courtiers could also influence their followers. So,the melody singing the praises of the flourishing age gradually substituted for the criticisms of troubled times during the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty, and the construction of the literary world also stepped on the good track which was expected by Emperor Kangxi.
