Abstract
Studied systematically the leaf regrowth dynamics of three grasses in natural Leymus chinensis grassland under different grazing intensity by the application of the theory and method of tissue turnover. The results showed that the rate of leaf enlongation, rate of leaf senescence, rate of leaf appearance and rate of leaf wither differed significantly between different regrowth duration. The effect of grazing intensity was not different significantly. Grazing was unfavorable for leaf appearance of Leymus chinensis; middle grazing intensity accelerated leaf enlongation and appearance of Phragmites communis and Puccinellia tenuiflora.
