Abstract

AIM: To investigate the active constituents in the buds of Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz., and to study the chemical constituents to estimate the quality of Flos Lonicerae. METHODS: Many kinds of column chromatography were used to isolate the constituents from the extracts of the buds of L. macranthoides. The chemical constituents of the plant were elucidated by means of spectroscopic methods, respectively. RESULTS: Eleven compounds were obtained and identified as hederagenin-28-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl] ester(Ⅰ), 3-O-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-α-L-arabinopyranosyl] hederagenin(Ⅱ), 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-α-L-arabinopyranosyl] hederagenin(Ⅲ), 3-O-α-L-arabinopyranosyl hederagenin-28-O-[β-D- glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl] ester (Ⅳ), 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-α-L-arabinopyranosyl] hederagenin (Ⅴ), 3-O-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-α-L-arabinopyranosyl] hederagenin-28-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl] ester(Ⅵ), 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-α-L-arabinopyranosyl] hederagenin-28-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl] ester(Ⅶ), 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-α-L-arabinopyranosyl] hederagenin-28-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl] ester(Ⅷ), kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅸ), rutin(Ⅹ), luteolin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(Ⅺ). CONCLUSION: Saponins Ⅰ~Ⅴ, flavonoids Ⅸ and Ⅹ were isolated from the plant for the first time.
