Study on relationship between insulin resistance and blood level of lipids in patients with coronary heart diseases

Objective To study the relationship between insulin resistance and blood level of lipids in patients with coronary heart diseases.Methods Forty six patients with coronary heart diseases were allocated into study group,and 46 healthy persons were randomly selected from out-patient department as control group.Blood levels of fasting glucose,fasting insulin and lipids of subjects in these two groups were examined,and the indexes of insulin resistance and insulin release were calculated.Results ①There was no significant difference in blood level of glucose between these two groups(P 0.05).The blood level of insulin,insulin release index and insulin resistance index in patients of study group were significantly higher than those of control group(P 0.05).② The blood levels of triglyceride,total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein were significantly higher than those of control group,and level of high-density lipoprotein was significantly lower than that of control group(P 0.05).③ Insulin resistance index and blood levels of triglyceride,total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein in patients of study group were positively correlated with the severity of disease,and blood level of high density lipoprotein was negatively correlated with the severity of disease.Conclusion There is insulin resistance existed in patients with coronary artery diseases and insulin resistance is correlated with blood level of lipids,thus it suggests that insulin resistance plays an important role in the development of coronary heart diseases.
