A Retrospect of the Theory in Aesthetics of the Humanities

The general trend of aesthetics in the world is oriented to the humanities.This can be found in the following three theoretical bases:Firstly,western aesthetics was originated in philosophy,developed in artistic aethetics and aesthetic psychology and was in the end included in the humanities,which became the theoretical root of western aesthetics and the values of aesthetics in all fields.Secondly the aesthetics of Chu Sao,Confucian classics,philosophical sect,Buddhism and the Zen sect,Neo Confucian school of idealist philosophy of Song and Ming Dynasties,psychology of the Ming Dynasty based on Confucianism and Taoism in ancient China had the spirit and idea of the humanities as their essence.And the Chinese aesthetics of the 20 th century was oriented in the general trend of humanism with the spirit of the times merged in the tradition of humanism.Thirdly,the future aesthetics must show more concern for the man's existence,significance and feelings.Thus the basic spirit of humanism in aesthetics must be enriched theoretically.
