Abstract

This paper reveals the complex and delicate relationship between Marxism and ideology in the 19th century,especially during the period of the Second International by tracing back the connotation change of ideology and the change of the meaning of Marxism in its development.The process in which Marxism is taken as the ideology of the working class is the process in which Marxist theories themselves keep changing as well.In the process,Marxism should be kept from being interpreted as vulgar and dogmatical.
