Abstract

Objective: To explore the changes of the expression of postsynaptic density 95 (PSD-95) in hippocampus of mice with vascular dementia (VD).Methods: The mice were subjected for ischemia reperfusion repeatly on bilateral common carotid arteries by knots to establish the VD models. The changes of behavior were observed through the step-down avoidance test and the expression of PSD-95 was observed by immunohistochemical method. Results: The abilities of the learning and memory of VD mice was impaired. The immunoreactivity of PSD-95 in hippocampal dentate gyrus(DG) decreased (P0.05). Conclusion: The impairment of the abilities of learning and memory of VD mice might be related with the change of PSD-95 in hippocampus.
