Abstract

The shale gas reservoir has attracted worldwide attention as a clean and efficient unconventional resource. The drilling, completion and hydraulic fracturing techniques is the key of the shale gas development techniques for horizontal well. The paper introduces several well completion methods for the horizontal well of shale gas, not only includes under balanced drilling, rotary steering drilling and control pressure drilling techniques, but also their advantages, disadvantages, application conditions and case histories. It also analyzes the several major hydraulic fracturing techniques (re-fracturing, multiple stage fracturing, riverfrac treatment and synchronous fracturing) for shale gas development and their characteristics and applicability, Some proposals are put forward to further research the shale geological theory, the precision orientation and reservoir reconstruction, gas characteristics simulation and so on.
