On Application of Horizontal Wells in the Exploitation of Jianghan Oilfield

Abstract
Due to their advantages of larger oil drainage area and higher single-well producing rate,horizontal wells are mainly used to increase oil production in the exploitation of continental oilfield in China.As Jianghan oilfield is entering later stage of development,it has more difficulties in residual oil development and reserve utilization.This paper has discussed the production status about horizontal wells in Jianghan oilfield and analyzed their application effect in thin oil reservoir with low permeability,thick oil reservoir as well as dense oil reservoir.The analysis shows that their more application can effectively help enhance oilfield development.On the other hand,this paper puts forward further research direction on the basis of the analysis of the effect of horizontal well measures.
