Abstract
A laboratory study was conducted to evaluate the effect of temperature on nitrogen mineralization in the soil of coniferous broad leaved forest and spruce fir coniferous forest in Changbai Mountain. The soil cores were kept in PVC tube, adjusted to optimum and saturated soil water content, and incubated at 5, 15, 25 and 35℃ for 30 days. The inorganic N in soil extracts before and after incubation was analyzed. The results showed that soil nitrogen mineralization rate was exponentially related to temperature. Exponential equations were established. With these equations, we simulated the annual net nitrogen mineralization in two types of forest soil which were 111 8 kg/(hm 2·a) and 57 4kg/(hm 2·a),respectively.The results suggested laboratory incubation is a good method for study of nitrogen mineralization.
