Research Progress in Post-stroke Depression

Depression is a common complication after a stroke.Post-stroke depression Can impede the recovery of activity of daliy living and neurologic impairment,which will result in prolonged course of disease and maybe one of the causes affecting the quality of life.Nowadays the post-stroke depression is considered to be the result of interactions of various neurobiological,social and psychological factors.Its onset fits the bio-psycho-social model.This article reviews the definition,pathogenesis,clinical manifestations,diagnosis,and the treatments of post-stroke depression.
