Abstract

This papers summarizes the present status of researches of the structures,functions,ecological restoration and management of riparian zones at home and abroad.According to the views of community ecology and restoration ecology,adopting some principles and methods of riparian research and taking into consideration the particularity of urban banks,it supplies theoretical bases and operational methods for the ecological restoration of urban riparian wood zones from three aspects: biology restoration,habitat restoration and structure-function restoration.
