Abstract
Objective To study influencing factors of brachialankle pulse wave velocity and its relationship with the risk factors of cardiovscular disease.Methods Totally 1 764 healthy subjects who received health check-ups in our center from May 2010 to November 2010 were enrolled for baPWV measurement.Based on the results,these subjects were divided into low baPWV group(baPWV1 400 cm/s)and hig baPWV group(baPWV1 400 cm/s).With the baPWV value as the dependent variable and age,body mass index(BMI),systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),mean artery pressure(MAP),fasting blood glucose(Glu),blood cholesterol(TC),blood glycerin(TG),high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C),and heart rate(HR) as the independent variables,the correlations between baPWV and the risk factors of cardiovascular diseases were analyzed.Results The age,BMI,SBP,DBP,MAP,Glu,TC,TG,and LDL-C were significantly higher in the high baPWV group than in the low baPWV group(P0.05).Univariate analysis showed that the age,SBP,DBP,MAP,GLU and HR was significantly correlated with baPWV(P0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age,SBP and HR were positively correlated with baPWV(P=0.00).Conclusion baPWV can be a useful predictor of cardiovascular diseases.Age,SBP and HR are the main influential factors of baPWV.
