Study on acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training in treatment of shoulder - hand syndrome after stroke

Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training in treatment of shoulder hand syndrome after stroke.Methods Sixty two patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke were randomly divided into 2 groups,and 31 patients in each group.Patients in trial group were treated by acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training,and patients in control group were only applied with rehabilitation training.The clinical therapeutic effectiveness was evaluated with Modified Barthel Index(MBI) after treatment for 5 weeks.Results The total effective rate of patients in trial group(94.55%) was higher than that of patients in control group(74.19%),The scores of MBI in trial group were also higher than those of control group,and the difference between these two group was statistically significant(P 0.01).Conclusion The therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training in treatment of patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke is better than simple rehabilitation training.So it is worthy to be recommended for clinical application.
