Abstract

The effects of initial pH values on bioleaching of chalcopyrite were investigated in shaking flasks. The results show that better bacterial activity and fast oxidizing ratio of ferrous ion are obtained with pH value of 1.2~1.6.Bacterium has better adaptation at initial pH value of 1.4.Fewer jarosite is produced and higher copper leaching rate is obtained with initial pH value of 1.2~1.4.pH value is the key factor to control jarosite sediment.
