Design and study of front guide impeller of axial flow pumps

Based on the characteristic of axial flow pump and the designing method of centrifugal (pump's) guide impeller, a primary study on the design of front guide impeller of axial flow pump and its configuration is carried out. The main contents are as follows: disposition of guide impeller and figuring out the axial dimensions; partition of calculational section of guide impeller; calculation of emplacement angle of vane;using screwy line to draw the shape of vane and so on. The guide impeller which is designed to set at the entrance of axial flow pump, it can reduce cavitations of axial flow pump and improve the flow state of main impeller .It is confirmed by some experiments. So the design is logical and viable.
