American philosopher Stephen Angle's Progressive Confucianismas a political philosophy displays great creativity,since it is based on his idea of Rooted Global Philosophyand gives prominence to ritual the shape ofethics-ritual-laworvirtue-ritual-politicsthrough which modern values join up with Confucian traditions.However,the thoughtway of Rooted Global Philosophybelongs to the mode of thinking ofRoot-Branches( 本—末),Body-Function( 体—用) andMetaphysical-Physical( or post-metaphysical) in traditional metaphysics,in which ritual is the mediate between metaphysical Root and post-metaphysical branches,and which has not traced to the Source of Confucianism despite of the Rootof that.In addition,it is not a judgment conforming to the actual situation that Life Confucianism has previously commitment to phenomenology with which Confucianism is synthesized and transformed.
