Zhuangzi's Revelation of "Ugliness"

Zhuangzi was prolific in writing about in which he examined both beauty and ugliness.His revelation of ugliness demonstrated his courage and his acknowledgement of shame for 'ugliness',which he had inherited from Chinese cultural tradition.Zhuangzi's concept of 'ugliness', which evolved from that of Lao Zi,does not equate with 'evil'.It suggests Zhuangzi's attempt to reverse the alien interpretation of the human nature by Confucian and the Mohist schools.The studies of Zhuangzi's conception of 'ugliness' and that of his aesthetics are two important components of the theory of Zhuangzi.
