Abstract

An effective method was established for the simultaneous determination of phthalate plasticizer in coated papers.Phthalate plasticizer in coated paper was ultrasonically extracted at room temperature, using trichloromethane as the extraction solvent, and then was analyzed by gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. At the condition of S/N(signal/noise)=10,the limits of quantification were 0.1 mg/kg,0.2 mg/kg and 0.2mg/kg for DMP,DIDP and DINP,respectively. The limits of quantification were less than 0.05mg/kg for all other phthalate plasticizer at the condition of S/N=10.The average spiked recoveries varied from 82.3% to 102.8% while the relative standard deviation(RSD) was all less than 13%.The proposed method was simple, sensitive, rapid and accurate, applicable for the simultaneous determination of phthalate plasticizer in coated paper.Phthalates plastics in commercially available coated paper were detected and the results showed that phthalate plasticizer existed in some commercially available coated paper.
