Clinical Analysis of 20 Cases Involving Cough Caused by Gastroesophageal Reflux

Objective To investigate the treatment method of cough caused by gastroesophageal reflux in primary hospital.Methods The clinical datas of 20 patients with cough caused by gastroesophageal reflux were retrospectively analyzed,who were diagnosed and treated in our hospital from Feb.2005 to Feb.2006;then the clinical futures,treatment methods and curative effects were summed up.Results Among the 20 patients,10 cases (50%) had cough,regurgitation and heartbum.After the education and treatment of anti-acid medicine,PPI or histamine receptor antagonist and gastro-kinetic agent,the symptoms of six cases improved within 7～14 d,disappeared after 21 d;the symptoms of 10 cases improved within 15～21 d,disappeared after 4 weeks;two cases with serious symptoms alleviated after taking medicine for 4 weeks,and the whole treatment time was ≥2 months;the other two cases were not followed.Conclusion By changing dietary and sleeping habit,taking anti-reflux and anti-acid medicine,and actively treating the primary disease such as peptic ulcer,cough caused by gastroesophageal reflux can get a good efficiency.
