Abstract

Objective: To study the pathogenic bacteria and drug resistance in chronic suppurative otitis media(CSOM) and guide rational drug therapy for CSOM.Methods: Secretion of 148 patients with chronic suppurative otitis media were sampled and cultured for aerobic, anaerobic bacteria and fungus respectively.Drug sensitivity tests were done to separate pathogenic bacteria. Results: One hundred and fifty-four strains pathogenic bacteria were isolated from the secretion of middle ear lesion. The main pathogenic bacteria were staphylococcus aureus(57 strains),pseudomonas aeruginosa(32 strains)and fungus(10 strains).Staphylococcus aureus was sensitive to rifampin, vancomycin and fluoroquinolones, and the sensitivity rates were 100%,100% and 87.72% respectively.Pseudomonas aeruginosa was sensitive to ceftazidime, aminoglycoside and fluoroquinolones, and the sensitivity rates were 90.62%,87.50% and 90.62% respectively. Conclusion: Staphylococcus aureus and pseudomonas aeruginosa are the main causative bacteria of CSOM in this region. Both of them are sensitive to fluorquinolones. The staphylococcus aureus plays an important role in the CSOM.
