On Militancy in the Theme of Songs of Chu

Abstract

In view of his deep worried and indignant patriotic feelings, especially for his spirits criticizing the reality with obstinacy and gamely for the ideal, Qu Yuan added a deep, fiery and forthright air to Chinese culture. In the works of Qu Yuan, the traditional militancy in the history of Chu state strengthened out and away in Songs of Chu, compared with Shi Jing(Classic of Poetry).
