Abstract

OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of early enteral nutrition on prevention of postoperative pulmonary infections so as to provide guidance for prevention of the postoperative pulmonary infections in lung cancer patients.METHODS A total of 130 lung cancer patients who were treated in the hospital from Jun 2011 to Jun 2013 were enrolled in the study and randomly divided into two groups according to the clinical trial, with 65 cases in each;the control group was treated with intravenous nutrition, while the observation group was given the nasal drip feeding tube enteral nutrition nutrison within 1-5days after surgery,500-1000 ml per day;the incidence of postoperative pulmonary infections, the levels of serum albumin, hemoglobin, alanine aminotransferase, and aspartate aminotransferase, and the change of IgA,IgG,IgM,CD4+cell,NK cell, and B lymphocytes on the first day and eighth day after the treatment were observed.RESULTS The pulmonary infections did not emerge in the observation group after the implementation of the early enteral nutrition but occurred in 6cases in the control group with the infection rate of 9.23%,there was significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).On the first day and fifth day after the treatment, the levels of the serum albumin, hemoglobin, alanine aminotransferase, and aspartate aminotransferase of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P0.05).As compared with the IgA,IgG,IgM,CD4+cell,NK cell, and B lymphocytes on the eighth and first day after the treatment, they were elevated more significantly in the observation group than in the control group, there was significant difference(P0.05).CONCLUSIONThe early enteral nutrition can effectively improve the level of postoperative nutrition of the lung cancer patients and reduce the risk of pulmonary infections, and it has the value of clinical application.
