Abstract

Long span cable-stayed bridges generally are the key structures of transportation system.Great direct and indirect economic loss will be caused,if these bridges are damaged in an earthquake.Becauses of the long span, there exists the difference of seismic wave arrival time at different bridge piers during an earthquake, which will have a significant influence on the seismic responses of long-span cable-stayed bridges. So,to study the seismic responses of long-span cable-stayed bridges with multi-support excitation will be very important to seismic design and seismic safety. In this paper the comparison study is carried out on the seismic responses between uniform excitation and multi-support excitation, and the influence of multi-support excitation on the bridge is studied emphatically.
