On the Remains of Imperial Examination System at the End of Qing Dynasty

Abstract
After the imperial examination system was abolished, the Qing Government still retained some of the imperial examinations, such as the examinations for selecting Shengyuan, Juren and Gongsheng.School students and the students to study abroad were to take examinations, and the official title was decided according to test results. This had great influence on the society at the end of Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China. The imperial examination system had its special historical background and profound social reasons.
