Abstract
Objective: To observe the expression of three kinds of special markers of lymphatics in human tumor for choosing the most available special lymphatic marker in tumor tissues. Methods: Immunohistochemistry methods were used in human gastric cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer and larynx cancer to observe the expression of LYVE-1, Podoplanin and VEGFR-3. Results: LYVE-1 only expressed in lendothelial tissue of lymphatic vessels, Podoplanin expressed mainly in lymphatic vessels and a few of small veins, however, VEGFR-3 expressed in both lymphatic and small blood vessels. The positive expression of VEGFR-3 could also be found in kytoplasm of cancer cells. Conclusions: LYVE-1 and Podoplanin can be used to identify lymphatic and blood vessels in tumor tissues.
