Abstract

The mitigative effects of salicylic acid about Na 2CO 3 stress were studied. The results showed that at the stage of the maize seed germination, the application of salicylic acid could promote the activity of amylase, peroxidase(POD)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)in the seed.So the germination rate, germination index and vigor index of maize were increased. The proper concentration of salicylic acid is 1.0 mmol/L when the maize seed is stressed under 50 mmol/L.
